Elise Bowles B.Sc. CCC-SLP
Director of Speech and Language Services
Elise has worked with children who have special needs and their families for more than 9 years, both in England and the United States. She started her career in the United Kingdom National Health Service in London, where she focused on Pediatric and Adult Special Needs Services as well as community and clinic-based services. Elise has experience with a wide range of speech and language disorders and syndromes and she specializes in Feeding (Dysphagia) and Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC). Elise has worked extensively within multi-disciplinary teams and was a senior Specialist Dysphagia Consultant for a North London Health District. Elise was also a senior therapist for the Pediatric Special Needs Team and worked as the lead therapist for a school of children with profound, multiple special needs, and two community clinics to help them comply with government standards. Elise assisted in a focus group that developed standards for a national curriculum, especially designed for children within Special Education.

Since September 2008 Elise has helped develop a total communication environment within Carousel School as well as increase the use of technology and AAC. She has been instrumental in developing the new Multi-Sensory Environment for the School. Elise is able to contribute her skills in feeding and curriculum design within both Carousel programs, as well as being actively involved with staff and parent workshops.
Elise completed her training in Speech and Language Pathology at University College in London, England. She has earned certificates in a variety of therapeutic interventions, including: the Bobath Technique, PECS(Picture Exchange Communication System), Cued Articulation, Makaton Signing, and Parent Child Interaction Therapy.
