Nikki has more than seven years of experience working with children who have special needs. Nikki has worked at Carousel School for more than two years. At Carousel School he provides speech and language therapy for children ages 1 year 10 months to 18 years. He writes, designs, and formulates therapy goals based on the children’s needs, and capabilities. He coordinates with other therapists, and educational staff to ensure that the children’s needs are met and goals are implemented. For more than four years, Nikki provided speech therapy to adults and children who have special needs or disabilities, in a variety of settings including public schools, clinics, hospitals, and community based settings. He has worked with these clients on skills that include fluency, hearing, voice, articulation, oral-motor, language, feeding and swallowing, and general social skills. He has worked with multiple evaluation tools for children with speech and language problems. Additionally, Nikki supervised speech therapist interns. Nikki also volunteered at the Operation Smile Philippines and International program where he provided screening for clients opting for surgery to repair their cleft lip and palate. He also worked with Orthodontists device speech valves for adults with unrepaired cleft palates.
Nikki received his BS in speech therapy from the University of the Philippines in 2002.
