Early Intervention (EI) Program

Children ages 0 through 3 years old who have a diagnosed disability or special need, or who are at risk of developmental delays, may receive specialized programming. Through Carousel’s Early Intervention Program, children with special needs may participate in an integrated half-day preschool program with typically-developing peers, while also receiving the additional therapeutic support services they need. Since learning and development is most rapid during the preschool years, it is critical to provide early identification and intervention for children at this time. The timing of early intervention is critical to optimizing children’s ability to meet their developmental milestones on time.

Program Description
The Early Intervention Program is a bilingual full-inclusion therapeutic infant development program. The staff to client ratio of at least 1:3 incorporates direct services from occupational and physical therapists, speech and language pathologists, and behavioral specialists in the classroom. Through the transdisciplinary team approach, the clinicians provide comprehensive assessments and develop treatment plans for each child. Children may receive any separately authorized individual treatments in addition to the standard Early Intervention Program time.
