Paul Bailey started his career in education as a substitute teacher in Provo, Utah. Paul’s original intention was to use his business background and undergraduate degree in business to teach secondary business, but his experience with substitute teaching quickly revealed his love for working with students with special needs. He ended up changing his major from secondary education to special education, and earned a Masters of Special Education and a teaching credential for moderate/severe disabilities. After teaching in Utah, Paul and his family decided to move back to California where he accepted a position as a transition teacher at Carousel School. In October of 2013, Paul was promoted to the Teacher Support Coordinator where he worked under the Director of Special Education in a support and leadership position. In the fall of 2014, Paul accepted the position of Director of Special Education allowing him to draw upon his management experience, while remaining focused on serving students with special need. As the Director of Special Education, Paul is responsible for daily NPS operations and supervises the teachers and behavior aides. Paul oversees student IEP development and attends student IEP meetings and additionally works to insure compliance with state and federal regulations.
