Behavioral Aide

Carousel school is an NPS School, working with special needs students up to age 22 with a Moderate to Severe Diagnoses. This position offers a great opportunity for someone interested in working with the disabled population for both experienced and inexperienced workers. Come help us make a difference in the life of a child. As a behavioral aide you will work directly with the students in the classroom giving you an opportunity to gain valuable insight into the special education field. You will work closely with our teachers, behavioral supervisor as well as our speech and Occupational therapists to help bridge the gap between the students educational, social and behavioral goals.

The ideal candidate is someone with a true passion for working with and helping special needs students. High energy is a must. They are someone who is reliable and punctual as our students depend on continuity every single day.

Minimum Qualifications: 

High School Diploma
Prior experience with special needs students in a Moderate to Severe setting is preferred.
Must be able to carry 50lbs

California Speech Pathologist License

Join Carousel School and help make a difference working with children ages birth to 18 years old (some flexibility with caseload variety, depending on experience). Carousel is a Non-Public School with a Center Based Early Intervention Program. Speech therapy is provided through push-in, inclusive, and pull-out therapy on an individual basis or in small groups (2-3 students), according to the child’s IEP. This is an excellent opportunity for SLPs with experience in autism and utilizing multiple communication modalities (verbal communication, AAC, sign language). Join a wonderful team of speech therapists and provide best practice through collaboration with OTs, PTs, and Behavioral Therapists.

Preschool Teacher

Carousel School is in search of a Preschool teacher who is able to recognize children’s needs to learn basic academic skills, explore the world around them, achieve independent living and thinking skills, enjoy the learning experience, and become responsible citizens in an ever-changing world.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 12 units of Early Childhood Education
  • At least 1 year of experience working with preschool-aged children
  • Creativity and passion for teaching
  • Ability to work well with others and be comfortable in a leadership role, directing other staff members
  • Ability to acquire Tuberculosis (TB) clearance and fingerprint clearance upon hiring

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or related field
  • Bilingual (Spanish)

Special Education Teacher – Grades K-12

Carousel School has immediate openings for special education teachers in elementary and secondary education. We are seeking individuals who enjoy a collaborative relationship with other enthusiastic educators and skilled clinical staff. Our school includes students with a variety of disabilities, such as Autism, Down syndrome, ED, MR, etc., who are all encouraged to reach their highest possible potential with innovative therapies and creative teaching techniques. Our small class size and great staff-to-student ratios provide an ideal learning environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must hold one of the following California Special Education Credentials:
  • California Education Specialist Credential (Lifetime)
  • California Level II Education Specialist Instruction Credential with an area of specialization in Mild/Moderate (M/M) or Moderate/Severe (M/S) Disabilities
  • California Preliminary Level I Education Specialist Credential with an area of specialization in Mild/Moderate (M/M) or Moderate/Severe (M/S) Disabilities

Pediatric Occupational Therapist or Pediatric COTA/L

Carousel has an excellent opportunity for a Pediatric Occupational Therapist to work in a dynamic environment offering many different treatment settings: school-based, clinic-based, and Early Intervention.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • M.A. in OTRL or AA Certification COTA
  • Background in Sensory Integration
  • Must enjoy working in a collaborative relationship with other enthusiastic skilled clinical staff and educators

Pediatric Physical Therapist

Carousel has an excellent opportunity for a Pediatric Physical Therapist to work in a dynamic environment offering many different treatment settings: school-based, and Early Intervention. This is a part-time position.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must already possess a California Physical Therapist License
