Carousel staff members are qualified teachers and assistants who are selected for their education, experience, and skills. Great care is taken in selecting staff members who relate well to children and families, and who are sensitive to their needs.
Arts and Crafts – Children are given the opportunity to create through the use of paints, water colors, chalk, clay, and more.
Story Time/Discussion – A book of the week will be read and discussed within the group. Students may bring a book from home or choose from a list of titles at the local library.
Music and Movement – A variety of music is used, including classical, jazz, blues, folk, rock, pop, country/western, reggae, and other genres. Dance will encourage creativity and help develop physical coordination.
Cold Cooking – The students will learn the basics of measuring and cooking through participation in a weekly cooking project. Nutrition and healthy eating habits are discussed.
Outdoor Sports – Students participate in organized sports, including basketball, softball, soccer, football, relay races, and more. Water play games are also included during the summer.
