The Carousel After School program offers a balanced curriculum in which social and recreational activities are designed to promote the physical, social, emotional, and creative development of each child.
Hours:
2:00 pm – 5:00pm, Monday through Friday
Carousel School also offers extended Camp hours 8:00am – 4:00pm during Spring Break, Summer Break, and Winter Break.
Admission:
Students that are eligible for Regional Center services will be considered for admission into the program.
Staff:
Carousel staff members are qualified teachers and assistants who are selected for their education, experience, and skills. Great care is taken in selecting staff members who relate well to children and families, and who are sensitive to their needs.

Program Activities Include:
Arts and Crafts:
Children are given the opportunity to create through the use of paints, water colors, chalk, clay, and more.
Story Time/Discussion:
A book of the week will be read and discussed within the group. Students may bring a book from home or choose from a list of titles at the local library.
Music and Movement:
A variety of music including classical, jazz, blues, folk, rock, pop, country/western, reggae, and other genres are used. Dance will encourage creativity and help develop physical coordination.
Cold Cooking:
The students will learn the basics of measuring and cooking through participation in a weekly cooking project. Nutrition and healthy eating habits are discussed.
Outdoor Sports:
Students participate in organized sports which include basketball, softball, soccer, football, relay races, and more. Water play games are also included during the summer.
